At first, Lucina wondered if the little cub could talk. He seemed so reluctant to leave the comfort of his small cocoon. Even when the cocoon fell apart around him, he still remained still, head swiveling, taking in all that was around him. He reminded her so much of his father...looks wise that is. She hadn't figured out who's personality he most resembled.
Tyri watched his son curiously. He was such an unusual one-unique was the better way of putting it. He seemed completely antisocial, but he was sure that with time, and a little coaxing he would open up to them and his siblings. He watched as he cautiously stepped out of the shell of his cocoon, noting the way he pawed and examined at the silken filaments, playing with the debris.
He seemed more sure on his feet than the others, but Tyri realized that the movement that he saw while the cub was sitting in the debris was in fact the cub testing the movement of his limbs. He had prepared himself, and when he thought that his skills were sufficient, he had tried it out himself. He watched him move assuredly about, pausing every now and then to watch something that one of his siblings was doing, seemingly filing it away in his memory for future use.
Tyri nodded in approval and pointed his son's skills out to his mother, who nodded in response. He was quite the observant cub, and the skills that he had learned over such a short period of time surprised his parents.
He eyed his parents curiously, and toddled over to them. Staring up at them, he grinned a little impish grin and swatted playfully at his father's chest, and waited patiently for a reaction. When none came, he pounced on his mother's paws and grinned up at her. Lucina and Tyri looked at each other and shook their head.
Tyri laughed, and bent over and grabbed Dirotar by the scruff of his neck. He deposited him gently on his mother's back, and Dirotar grinned at him gleefully. He proceeded to hop up on Luci's head, knawing at her ears playfully. Luci swung him off of her back, and plunked him down in front of her, pinning him with her paws lightly.
He grinned up at her, tails lashing in a catlike manner, eyes glinting.
"Why don't you go play little one?" said Lucina. Dirotar glanced briefly at his siblings, and then bounded off, but in the opposite direction, away from the rest of the Egyptan cubs, preferring instead to sit in the corner and observe.
Tyri shook his head sadly. "He's going to be a quiet one that one, but he's going to learn so much. It's only too bad that he'll be so reluctant to share it with anyone." Luci nodded in response.
Their quite cub, silent as night, yet with so much to say, so much to share. He would be a difficult one, because he was so completely unlike his brothers and sisters. Luci and Tyri had never really dealt with anyone like that, so it would be a learning experience for them.
Tyri nuzzled Luci affectionately. She licked him back. They were so proud... so incredibly proud of their firstborns.
Dirotar regarded everyone with an already trained eye. It's not that he didn't want to be with them.. he just learned so much more by watching and copying rather than making the mistakes himself. Besides, he really didn't see the point in verbalizing anything. His energy could be much better spent experimenting on things. He would only talk if it was important.
He watched as one of his brothers licked at a small puddle and screwed up his face in disgust. Dirotar made a mental note not to do that. Curling up in a ball in the corner, he closed his eyes, and let the quietness of his mind envelop him.
