All of the eleven children born to Jess J. and Myrtle E. (Parson) Clark have sung special gospel songs at one time or another in their lives. Eight of the siblings, Bea (Clark) Madewell, Bill Clark, Bob Clark, Dewey Clark, Doyle Clark, Jessie Clark, Sr., Maxine (Clark) Macomb, and Sue (Clark) Merrill, have sung actively at one time or another as The Clark Family Singers, and have participated in one or more group recording projects. However, currently, only four of the siblings, Bea, Doyle, Jessie and Sue sing full-time as The Clark Family Singers. Bob and Dewey, although not singing full-time with the group, graciously fill in as needed.

Over the years the group has song on television (they have had two different half-hour live programs) radio, before worldwide and state ministers' conferences, at state camp meetings, at gospel singings, and concerts in churches of all denominations, at state fairs, arts and crafts festivals, and during revivals. Noted for their harmony, the group sings a variety of southern, contemporary and country gospel.

In an introduction to their first recording project, their pastor, after reviewing the evolution of the group from duet to quartet to The Clark Family Singers, said "Today we hear a group that is breathed on with the breath of God!" Another of their pastors in introducing them at a state ministers' conference said, "This next group is so annointed that when they get up to sing, I believe that God says to the angels, 'Be quiet and listen, The Clark Family Singers are about to sing!" The group does not charge for their personal appearances but do accept love offerings. They trust the Lord to supply their ministry needs.
