 3.  On a file card list:
 Title
 Author
Your favorite part of the book. (one sentence)
 Your name
You (only you) may type it.

 4. Be ready to share your project with the class. Practice your presentation at home.

A  diorama (die-uh-rah'muh) is a scene in a box.  The box is open on a side or at the top.  The sides are
painted.  Stand-up objects are placed inside to show a scene.  You can show something that happens in a book you
read.  Here are some hints for making a diorama.
 1. Plan your background scene.  Decide what you will paint on the sides and top of the box sky? trees? the walls of
a house? Decide what you will put on the bottom paint? a scrap of rug? real sand or dirt?
 2. Plan your models.  You can use toys.  You can use objects such as leaves, pebbles, and bits of wood and
material.  Or you can make models out of clay, pipe cleaners, or cardboard.
 3. Collect your materials.  A shoe box is a good size to use.
 4. Make your diorama.  Turn the box on its side so that you can paint your background.  Let each side dry before
starting another side.  When the sides and top are done, work on the bottom.  Then add your objects and models.
