Ghost
Yesterday, months ago we spoke in rhyme.
Months gone by, you fanned flames of a seemingly endless love.
A reality then so right, I regarded only with positive pessimism.
Today, months after you dance to a fresh rhythm.
Went fishing and you found a new timeless love.
A higher bidder for your love and you presumed the time prime.
Yesterday, several months now, we run to the end of our ride.
In a fading photo once was my flawless love.
Mother to be of fine offspring, a fathers perfect dream.
In time new beginnings we stumble upon.
With growing anticipation I await that chime.
The faintest hope of a potential new love.
For the price has been paid, the ghosts of the past all exorcised.
