| This year, following the "Official Soapbox Derby Car" displaying the American Flag during the Opening Ceremony, a Silent Memorial Run was held in memory of Butch Drennen, who had greatly enjoyed his involvement in the Soapbox Car Race, until his untimely death earlier this year. Car No. 7D, sponsored by C.A. Drennen in the 2003 Race, ran the track sporting the checkered flag in honor of Butch, driven by Clarendon resident Nicholas Rodriguez. |
