THE SCHOOL:
The Claremore Marching Percussion Ensemble is a vital part of the
Claremore High School band in historic Claremore, Oklahoma. Our city is located in suburban metro Tulsa in Northeastern Oklahoma. THE PERCUSSION PROGRAM:

Claremore Percussion is a three time winner of High Percussion in class 4A at the Pryor Invitational Marching Contest and also the winner of High Percussion in class 4A at the East Central High School Marching Band Contest. The Program stresses the primary building blocks of rudimental technique and the application of them. The Instructor of Percussion since the year 2000 is Jeffrey D. Wheeler. Wheeler was a graduate of Union High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His collegiate work was at Oklahoma State University and Northeastern State University, the latter where he served as conductor of the Chamber Percussion Ensembles and Coordinator of Marching Percussion. Some of Wheeler's teachers that profoundly influenced him were Brian Callahan, Tom Float, Fred Sanford, Russ McKinnon, and Dr. Stephen Rush.
