Ann Mace

Widow of John Biddle Mace, Great Rissington, 27th October 1863

I, Ann Mace, of Great Rissington in the County of Gloucestershire, Widow, do make this my last Will, and I give and devise to my son, Thomas Mace his heirs and assigns forever, all that Freehold cottage at Great Rissington and half the ground which I bought of the mortgagee Thomas West, and I give and devise the cottage lately built upon the said ground, and the residue of the said ground unto my daughters, Mary Ellen Mace and Lucy Mace in equal shares, and if either of my said daughters shall marry or be desirous in selling her share of the said last mentioned cottage and premises, my said son shall have the option of purchasing such share at the sum of thirty pounds and he shall have the same option upon the same event happening as to the remaining share.

I give all the residue of my estate and effects of which I have the power to dispose, unto my said son and two daughters before names, and my daughter Sarah Ann Smith in equal shares and I appoint my said son Thomas Mace, executor of this my Will. In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand the 25th day of November, One thousand, eight   hundred and sixty.   .......ANN MACE

William Berry

of Witney, Oxon, 8th December 1864

The last Will and Testament of me William Berry of Witney, Oxfordshire, Fellmonger, made this sixth day of December one thousand eight hundred and sixty four in manner following, that is to say, first I direct all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses to be fully paid and satisfied by my Executors hereinafter named and appointed. I give to my dear Wife Elizabeth and her Brother William Dossett and the survivor of them her his and their heirs executors administrators and assigns according to the nature or quality thereof, All my estate and estates property and effects of every description with the appurtenances upon trust to pay unto my said Wife the interest or other annual income thereof for her natural life for the maintenance of herself and my children so far as the same will, extend. And after the death of my said Wife upon trust for the said William Dossett to pay share and divide my said estate unto equally between my children who shall then be living in equal shares. And in case of either of my children dying in the lifetime of my said Wife leaving lawful issue, such issue to have and take his her or their deceased parents share in equal proportions. And I authorise my Executor and Executrix and the survivor of them to apply any portion of my said estate and property not exceeding the sum of Fifty pounds each for the apprenticing or advancement of my said children or either of them, but the sum to be applied is to be deducted from such child or children's presumptive share of my said estate. And if my Executors think fit to carry on my trade of Fellmonger during the life of my said Wife I hereby authorise and empower them to do so for the benefit of my said Wife and children. And I declare that the receipts of my said Executors shall be effectual discharges for any money to become payable under the trusts of this my Will. And I hereby appoint the said William Dossett and my said Wife Executor and Executrix of this my Will and revoke all former Wills by me made. ........WILLIAM BERRY
