G's Place
Lemme' introduce you to ...Weezel.
Weezel is a male ferret approximately a year old. I adopted him from a friend who didn't have the time or patience to care for him. I am just crazy about this fuzzbutt! He is entertaining and well mannered as far as ferrets go. He loves to wrestle and be tickled He is truly a riot to live with.

"Positions everyone, positions!"I have been around ferrets in the past and read tons of material on them in the past 6 months. Every indication I get on ferrets is that they love to get in small places to sleep. I was worried when I noticed that my fur butt was sleeping more and more in the upper, open level of his cage. Sometimes he burrows under the quilt kept on the top floor but I was seeing him out and on top of it with more frewquency. I spoke to several different people who told me that he must feel safe and secure out in the open or he would not sleep this way. Click on the photo to see.....you think you could snooze this way?

When I moved into the home with Weezles original owner, he had a water dish, a food dish and a hammock in his three level cage. I gathered by his initial reaction to me that he wasn't out of the cage much. He had no toys and what a miserable little life he must have been having. While I lived there I got him out of his cage daily. He was a little hard to handle at first as he was a nipper and not handled much at all. He loved to bite toes.

I bought him cat toys and put big fluffy bath towels in his den to cuddle with. I found him a quilt made for babies that he just fell in love with. I also gave him a hand made doll I had sewn some years before and pulled out of a box of knick knacks I had. He fell in love with her and adored sleeping under her skirt!

One day I had all these odd socks that had been accumulating. I thought since ferrets like to burrow he might like them in his cage. He was facinated by them. He would burrow through them, stash them all over his cage. rip and tear at them like a dog! Eventually he would play himself out and pass comepletely out in a mound of them.

Later in the coming weeks socks and underwear began disappearing from the laundry room.

One day while working I looked from my office door and there running down the hall was a long white tube sock! I walked into the hall to investigate and there sure enough was Weezel hopping through the house taking leave with a sock three times the length of his body. I followed him and watched where he went to. When I checked his stash spot a few minutes later there he was shoving his new found treasure into place. IN A MOUND OF SOCKS TWO FEET HIGH! No one in the house had a sock because he had them all. Hahahahah!

Not knowingly, I have created a
SOCK MONSTER.
