1. How does Troy react?

Troy reacts as my father. He wants his son to grow up like him and not have to go through struggles.

Why does he react in such a way?

He acts this way because he has experienced everything and doesn't want his son to.

Why doesn’t he want to acknowledge that times have change?

He doesn't want to acknowledge that time has changed because he feels that life in the past was great and wanted to live life to the fullest but didn't have a chance to.

Troy is afraid of failure. Failure in life and failure in his son.

What does he say about Jackie Robinson?

He doesn't like Jackie Robinson and thinks he shouldn't be marked in history because he couldn't play ball.

What does this statement tell us about the kind of man Troy is?

This tells us that Troy is very specified about his baseball players and how they play.

Why can’t he acknowledge J.R as an outstanding player?

He thinks that Jackie Robinson was a nobody and I think he was jealous of his skills.

Troy remembers himself as a good player who hardly struck out.

How might Troy’s frustrations hurt the ones he loves?

It can hurt them because he can take the frustration out on his family, which will hinder their connection
