Political Science Concentration
Similarly to my biology concentration, my political science concentration relies heavily on interaction.  Unlike the interaction of biology, which can often answer the question of "how?" and "why?", political science can often answer such queries as "who?" or "what?"

I chose to study political science because I have always had an interest in the formation of public policy.  Additionally, a study abroad trip in the summer of 2001 piqued my interest in international relations.  Its purpose, to study the democratization process in Eastern Europe, was a first-hand look at the means and methods of political change, with real and immediate impacts on people in that part of the world.

In my political science classes, I was able to study the methodology and history of political thought.  The ebb and flow of public opinion became a valuable tool for change, and I was able to dissect and understand exactly why these changes took place.  In the end, my studies in political science were centered on human behavior and thought.  We all are, of course, political animals.  For this reason, I found political science to be a perfect companion to my scientific studies.
