CS Update - Coming to a PC near YOU - Thursday June 28, 2001 @ 3:46 GMT + 10 - Stryker

Planet Half-Life received word of a pair of patches coming up. Versions 1.1.0.7 and 1.1.0.8 will be facing release in the coming weeks. Here are the details from the horse's mouth:

Update 1.1.0.7, which contains Deathmatch Classic and introduces new update/downloading functionality, will be issued next week.

Update 1.1.0.8, which contains Voice and the Multicast Spectator technologies, and was previously referred to as 1.1.0.7, will be released in mid July. This update also contains a fix for the GL wall hack, and will be previewed at this week's CPL event in Dallas.

The Voice and Multicast Spectator features will be compatible with all Half-Life Mods, and Valve will be supporting the Mod teams to have these features working immediately in popular HL Mods such as Day of Defeat and more. DON'T YOU JUST LOVE CS???

Compaq Computer Corporation and Intel Corporation today announced a multi-year agreement that accelerates availability of next-generation enterprise servers based on the Intel Itanium processor family. Compaq will transfer key enterprise processor technology to Intel and consolidate its entire 64-bit server family on the Itanium architecture.

Under the multi-year technology agreement, Compaq is transferring significant Alpha tools and engineering resources to Intel, as well as granting licenses to Compaq's Alpha microprocessor technology and compilers.

The problem is that will Intel use this technology to make better CPU's or are they just killing off another competitor??? Lets hope it's for making better Chips.

OK folks, the mini LAN is almost underway. Kryptonite just bought a new computer dedicated for CS ;-) and it's finally starting hum like a slick Lexus IS200 :))). Judging by the setup so far I can fit 8 comps + 1 server max in this humble bedroom. Don't think I'll get any sleep tonight with that deafening Pabst fan of yours Stryker.

Well by the end of this week we will be testing our LAN, it's gonna be held in Swift's bed room. Kop's room may also be eaten up by our LAN. For those that won't be able to attend, the proper lan will be held on Fri 29th until we get tired of LANin', or we get kicked. LOL
