There aren't many old records first of all. By old I'm meaning 1700s and before. I found a reference to a Normoyle woman marrying some Prodastent in New York City about 1770. I''m thinking theyhad to leave Ireland as marrying with the other religion was frowned on to say the least. I'm guessing she was from Glin also since that is where the Normys have a tradition of mingling the DNA and running off and also the most likely spot they would come in contact with one.

Faints of 1603 mentioned elsewhere on this web page( I can't find it today) lists several Normys with af ew spellings being "pardoned" by the Englsih for their "Crimes". I can't tell anything from the info. I haven't found anwhere they explain anything about these faints. It took 5 years just to stumble on the lists. The othr names on the list I don't recognize as being from Co Clare.

Latest bit I found was a reference to a "Rodger Normoyle secular priest hanged Clare" I think by secular they mean he wasn't a Jesuite or one of those othr kinds but a regular priest. Killed by Cromwell and his butchers for being a priest in 1649.

I was sent a genealogy list by someone which had a marriage between a Normoyle and Macnamara listed among others. It started with Adam and Eve. I've since learned there were old genealogies that did start at Adam and Eve No dates no other info but I believe it was from pre 1600 and it's significant since they weren't listing marriages between people from the muck then. Also that it was with a MacNamara as this would show theyw ere at least in the same area if not part of the same clan

Then there is in "Triumphs of Turlough" written about 1450 and describing events in years around 1300. There are several reference to a branch of the MacNamaras called the "Gillamoyles". As were alledgly a branch of the Macnamaras tis caught my attention. They are listed several time with other branches of the Mac's. I have never found anybody with any scholarly info on this great book. Some American should get a grant for a few million and have answeres to my questions.
