Tom Normoyle
My grandfather lived all of his life in Labasoida, (LABASHEED on map across from Glin)
where he was a farmer. my father left labasoida in 1952 for bedford,
england. My uncle Tom Normoyle left labasoida in the late 1940's, after a family
dispute. my aunt is not positive, but she thinks that he may have moved to
england. she is not postive, but she believes that he may have been a
tradesperson.

My great great grandfather was francis normoyle. he was born approx. 1822
and he came to the US in 1851.
i first found him in Bucks county, Pennsylvania where he filed an intention
to become a citizen document. he was married in 1858 in Jersey City,
New Jersey to Mary McKeon born approx. 1832 - 1834. their children were
anna m., elizabeth, john f., winifred, henry michael, and anthony. all of
them were born between 1858 - 1872 in NJ.
anyway, the problem is that i have been unable to find out where in
ireland he was born.

William Normoyle (aka Billy or Bill) was born May 29, 1890 in Menangle, near
Picton in NSW - his father's name was Thomas and his mother's name was Ada
Ellen Creighton. If you could find some trace of him it would be great. He
supposedly ran away when he was quite young (perhaps around the time his
father died in 1912) so I'd look for him in the US after that date.

I was married to a Normoyle for 17 years from Dublin. He is the father of
my children. He and his family were all born in Dublin. His Aunt owned a
pub in Dublin and just died in Dec. 1997. I am interested in family
information for my children. Please respond. Thanks Kay

Bridget Normoyle (b. abt 1852 -d after 1893, daughter of Thos. Normoyle)
married Joseph Kett (b 1835-41 - 1893, father John?) Their children were:
Michael "Wallace" Kett b. 1878 married Nora Walsh; Mary Kett married
Michael McGrath; Catherine Kett
<
My Bridget Nomoyle was married in Cooraclare Chapel in Kilmihil. Her father
was Thomas, a farmer. I have a copy of the marriage record. There were
several generations of Normoyle/Normile (both spellings have appeared in
papers of the same persons -- apparently a lot of the spelling was
phonetic) in the Kilmihil area who were shoemakers. A shoemaker family
appears in the 1901 census. I have seen references to Normoyle living all
over West Co. Clare -- from Ennis to Kilkee to Kilrush and Kilkee.

Surname: Bell, Burton, Normoyle
This is my first atempt to establish family history other than that furnished
to me by my parents.
I would like some help on taking this further as there seems to something
not quite right with the information that i have already ie my father
obviously spells his surname as mine, yet his fathers bothers surname was
spelt Normoyle! the explanation i have points towards a spelling error on
his birth certificate!, but this would mean brothers at school with
differently spelt surnames.
Can you help of point me in the right direction?
