Life and Times on my
82' Honda Hawk CB450T

Bought for $500 in sunny LA in Nov.'92. It was originally a CB400T. I quickly learned that it is a good idea to put oil in it from time to time. The engine ceased and I had a crash course in motercycle maintaince. I bought a book and some tools and replaced the piston rods. The oil tubings that move oil to the top of the rocker's was smashed. I was broke by the time I dicovered that, so I used liquid steel with sheet metel to remake it.That lasted for 4 mo's.

On the way back to Canada in the middle of the Mohavi Desert

I couldn't help but notice the banging. By that point I had put Duralube in the oil. (Good stuff) The oil pump wasn't ever working. The piston pin came loose and that was the banging. For 400 more miles I banged along at 45mph. I ended up in stranded in Beaver Utah. (The middle of nowhere!)
