Thaylog The character:
Unknown to me till later, I was taken back in time (1271) and left to be hatched and
raised by a foster clan in the Carpathian Mountains. From the moment of my hatching I was
looked upon as a bad omen and more then one clan member sought my death - my
fathers leader position all that kept them from succeeding.
Eventually, even this was not enough to keep peace within the clan and my father was
forced to exile me in the late Autumn of 1305. Young and naive, I found myself in a world
very different then what I had been used to and very unfamiliar with the beings called
Humans.
The centuries were lonely ones for me, trying my best to survive by taking up residence
where I could - sometimes within human cities, other times in the forests or mountains. A
few dear friendships were made during those long years teaching me that not all humans
were evil, cruel beings. It was then that I also learned of my immortality - not a
pleasant thing to be sure.
1995 arrived, finding me in New York - a very wealthy gargoyle with no idea on how to
use my fortune to my advantage. A chance (or was it really so) meeting with a female
gargoyle started a run of good luck and brought me face to face with my true parents. Deep
within my heart I hated them for abandoning me all those centuries ago, but was able to
push it aside to learn from them. It turned out I had inherited more then just my
mothers immortality - many of her magical abilities had bred true as well and I knew
I needed to learn how to use them.
True to my nature, I could not remain under their 'reign' very long and quickly
departed to find my own place in the world. Near a decade of wondering and plotting passed
- the time finally coming when things started to fall into order.
On my way to Pennsylvania I ran into Flynt - a strong friendship soon forming. Months
later, having established a company and acquired a new home in the mountains, we ran into
a some other lone gargoyles and formed a clan of our own - SteelClaw.
In real life:
Thay was the first leader of clan SteelClaw and one of the founding members. If it
wasn't for her and Flynt there wouldn't be a Clan SteelClaw.

Flynt Character Info
Flynt was born in the past sometime between the fall of the legendary Atlantis and the
rise of ancient Egypt. During this largely unknown period of history, Flynt's world was
abundant in magic. Flynt's homeland was besieged by an evil overlord and his dark armies.
The warlord possessed and ancient amulet, said to have been forged at the time the world
began. With its power the warlord sought to bring everything under his control. The castle
where Flynt's clan lived and defended was among the first to fall before the onslaught,
resulting in great loss of life, including his mate. Only a handful of gargoyles and
humans escaped the carnage.
The next year was one of chaos as Flynt took the remnants of the clan to the mountains
in refuge as the warlord's armies steadily took over the land.
Soon it was discovered that the warlord's wizards, with the aid of the magic possessed
by the amulet, had fashioned a portal capable of manipulating time and space. Flynt's
clan, among others, joined the growing armies of the last noble capable of stopping the
warlord's advance. The combined gargoyle/human armies marched against the warlord's
capital in a final desperate attempt to stop him. Flynt's squad penetrated the defenses
and confronted the warlord at the portal. In the ensuing battle the portal was destroyed,
but Flynt was caught in the magical explosion resulting from its destruction and pulled in
moments before it collapsed. Only later did he discover that the blendings of the amulets
and portals energies gave him the ability to rapidly heal, even mortal wounds. Whether
this is a form of invulnerability to injury, or real immortality he does not know.
He awoke to find himself in the present. To his surprise he discovered gargoyles still
existing. Eventually he met up with Thaylog, Dayia and later other gargoyles, which led to
the forming of Clan SteelClaw.
In real life:
Second in command and then leader, Flynt was also one of the founding members. Soon to
be married to Kahreen in rl...poor bugger. ^-^

Dayia I was
lain (as an egg, duh!) in a normal gargoyle rookery - 13 member clan. Seven years after,
the clan was attacked and sacked, the eggs were stolen to hatch and live out their
miserable lives in a lab, all except me.
I was rescued by a clan member; an old female who couldn't fight but was able to do a fair
bit of running. The old female (named Belladonna) wandered for the three years it took to
hatch, and she took care of me for the next 15 years (didn't know my parents, so I was
just fine) until she succumbed to the elements and old age.
Did a bit of wandering myself after that, living in the wilderness and in small towns
(without the knowledge or consent of the country people) until I ran into the now forming
Clan SteelClaw, and here I am.
In rl:
Dayia was one of the first members of clan SteelClaw.

Diamond Diamond's father was killed by humans, and his death caused her
mother to go mad and kill herself. Diamond grew to become a fierce
warrior, hating humans with a passion. She is a peach-skinned gargoyle
with long white hair, usually dressed in black. She arms herself with a
dagger and the magic to take human form when necessary. Although initially
she showed feelings for Flynt, her inability to forgive humans became a
barrier between her and the clan, and she left to find her own destiny.

Gigi: Gigi was born and raised in the Brazilian rain forest, where she had
a mate and son. This four-armed green warrior was skilled with the machete
and knew some magic. But tragedy followed in which those she loved were
killed, and she became a vampire. She met up with Ansalong, another
gargoyle/vampire, and their travels eventually brought them to New Orleans
where they ran into Silver and Llewelyn and learned about the clan. Gigi
doesn't mind killing or doing what is necesaary to survive, but she shows
more restraint and consideration than her darker sister.

 |
AnsalongAnsalong's past is a mystery, but she seems to have lived as a
vampire longer than Gigi. She is also more sensitive to vampire weaknesses
such as cold. Ansalong revels in her dark nature, and loves to intimidate
others and pick fights. But those who know her also know that she can
occassionally show a good-natured sense of humor and compassion.

Gizmo Gizmo's egg was one of the thirty-six rescued by Princess Katharine,
but during the ride to King Kenneth's castle, the egg fell into a river and
came to shore near a dragon's nest. The dragons raised her as one of their
own, and she learned to communicate with them. A Child of Oberon cast a
spell of stone-sleep on them so that they would escape the notice of
humans. Centuries passed, until Thom found her and brought her to Avalon,
where she finally awakened and met her other family. She and Sabrina
became close friends, and when Sabrina disappeared from the island, Gizmo
decided to leave and search for her and the dragons.
