Wraith Rush

The wraith rush is very similar to the Mutalisk Rush only you do it with Terran. The most important thing to remember with this strategy is that speed counts a lot, so you need to make sure that you don't spend unnecessary time on things like attacking or defense before your rush. Try to concentrate as many resources as you can on building wraiths, and see if you can get an ally to build up a defense for you while you rush. When rushing for wraiths, don't bother stopping to build tanks or marines or anything (I'm speaking of when you're in the ideal situation and an ally is defending you. If your ally isn't defending you, you need to make sure you do a pen-in defense). Just build 1 barracks, 1 factory (no add on!) and then go for wraiths. You want to go for gas a little early, because the ealier you get gas, the earlier you will be able to get a factory. Once you've got your factory, build a starport but DO NOT go for the add on just yet. Build 2 wraiths in that starport while you're building 1 additional starport...and create wraiths fast in the 2nd starport. Once the 2nd starport is up and running, that's when you stick the add on and researching cloaking (don't bother researching the energy upgrade, it will just slow you down.) Once you have 8-12 wraiths and cloaking ability researched, you're ready to attack. Go around to the back of the mineral patch just as you would a muta rush, but DO NOT CLOAK. Only cloak once your enemy sends units that will danger your wraiths. You want them to store up as much energy as they can so they can cloak for long periods of time. **REMEMBER** wraiths are very weak, so avoid detectors like cannons or turrets at all costs. If you're opponent is too well defended (more than 1 or 2 cannons), don't be afraid to pull back and attack a different player (or keep your wraiths for later)...you cannot afford to waste such a force so early in the game. In the event that your opponent is too well defended behind their mineral patch, perform hit and run operations around other parts of their base. Perhaps you can find an angle that will let you destroy some buildings without being detected. But once they get a detector there, don't stay too long. This is one strategy that I haven't used very much, but I've seen it work and I know that it can do a lot of damage. After your rush is complete, the best thing to do is upgrade your air weapons and go Mass Wraith.
