Tank Drop
By: RS~rEd_LiNe

Ok, the idea is to find a good place to siege your tanks, so that they can take out parts of a base without getting rushed by other units. On most maps there are cliffs, or plateaus that you can set your tanks up to siege. The picture above is from Discovery, which I'm sure some of you old ladder players used to play. And I'm sure some of you won or lost to this strategy. Though some use photon cannons, same idea. Whenever you can take out a base, do it. This cripples a player, and his income goes down tremendously. Especially when he has to rebuild any lost structures or units. Ok now to perform this, prefferably have a comstat, so it won't be detected when you travel to your destination. Also knowing the map is the most important part, make sure you don't get seen, even if it means taking the long way. Now use a dropship, and fill one with 3 marines, 1 SCV, and 1 tank. This is the smallest attack force you can manage with one dropship, but it's still effective since your tank can blast anything with it's long range. You should build a bunker right away and do not siege your tank till the bunker is close to completion. Once you siege, try to construct turrets to prevent any air units from destroying your tank. The marines should stay inside a bunker to prevent mutalisks, or zealot drops from destroying your tank. Also make sure to repair the tank and bunker if it takes hits. Prefferably, go with one dropship instead of a group of 2 or 3. This is because time is important, and as long as you perform the drop correctly you'll do fine. If you wait too long, it may be impossible to drop since the other player knows about this weak point. You really shouldn't defend your base, so unsiege your tanks and transport them, if you don't have any extra tanks in your base
