Welcome to the battle sphere. The time you'll spend in the area of green biomass will be short lived but you'll likely learn more in this first month than you will during the next six months after that. Be carefull but don't worry too much about making big mistakes. This early in the game even a big mistake is recoverable. Absolute worst case is that you'll be forced to start over and you'll be a month behind.
Day one: You start with four titans. You'll notice that one of these is generation 1 and already has two full spawning chambers. Use this titan to spawn a fast breeder1; a size six titan with two spawning chambers. I would also use the mother2 titan to spawn a breeder. Just copy the other breeder's design. Move one of your fighters outward to expand your map. Notice that all of your titans are invulnerable3 and can not be damaged by incomming fire. Check your breeders to be sure they are on green biomass, move them if needed. You probably do not have any other clans in your scan range this turn, but if you do, send them an email via the Tartarus server (Clan Roster page). An email to an older clan will also get you some good advice about how to play. This game is as much about diplomacy as it is about war, so start communicating.
Day two: Spawn another fighter to use as a scout to expand your map.
Day three: Spawn your gen 3 fast breeder. Spawn another gen 2 fast breeder from your gen 1 breeder as a backup (in case your higher gen fast breeder is killed off). Spawn another breeder from your mother.
With three turns under your belt you should have a good idea of how to continue. You have one main goal for the next 30 turns. You need to continue to advance your tech while migrating to orange biomass. The goal is to have a gen 16 breeder with one full chamber adjacent to an orange hex on the 30th turn. If this hex is also protected and if you've decided to be a paying player, you can now spawn a hall. If you're in the middle of a battle then you may want to continue fast breeding and spawn your hall later. Every day that you delay spawning a hall will cost you one tech, but if you spawn too soon and your new hall is killed, it could cost you several days of tech and will cost some ranking points as well.
Your main goals during your time as a GREEN player are: (not necessarily in order of importance)
If your enemies are holding you back from migrating to orange, you can farm orange biomass.
1Fast breeders are important because they allow you to advance your tech levels every other turn. Each time you spawn a new titan you can advance one tech. The goal is to advance tech as fast as possible. If you start on this first day and spawn a new fast breeder every other day (fills one chamber the day you spawn, then fills the other the next day, then you can spawn again the next day) you can spawn a tech level 16 titan on your 30th turn. Tech level 16 will now eat orange biomass. This tech level 16 orange eating breeder will be able to spawn a clan hall as soon as it has at least one full chamber and an open adjacent hex with orange spores. Even if you don't plan to have a hall, you'll want to advance your tech as fast as possible.
2The mother titan is very special. It has no shields but lots of spawning chambers. It will always spawn invulnerable titans. If you have the misfortune of your mother being born on an orange hex, then use these spawning chambers carefully. I would even consider farming biomass to try and change the surrounding biomass to green. A mother will harvest biomass as long as it's green.
3Any titan spawned by your mother will be invulnerable for 10 turns. Any titan spawned from an invulnerable titan will be invulnerable for as many days as it's parent. Using invulnerable titans to shoot at older clans will get you points, but once your invulnerability wears out, watch out!
