FRIDAY 16th JULY- A punch reception will be held in the James O'Keeffe Institute which will be followed by which will hopefully be our biggest and most colourfull parade yet ! So we are encouraging everyone that is participating to get making those flags and banners and let everyone know what part of the world you are from. This is always a very colouful event and a fun evening is assured. Following the parade through the town, we return to the James O'Keeffe Institute where we will have a celebratory mass for all deceased McAuliffe's and then the music should begin.........Entertainment will be supplied by extremely talented local musicians and a feast of traditional Irish music will be supplied into the early hours of the morning with song and dance assured and refreshments supplied.
SATURDAY 17th JULY- We have planned a fun filled day begining at the James O'Keeffe Institute at 11.30 am where a bus will depart for a day tour to Blarney where everyone can visit the renowned Blarney Caslte and possibly have some lunch in the beautiful setting of the town of Blarney. We will then depart Blarney and venture to Cork Jail which is a very enjoyable afternoon and we have planned to return back to Newmarket by 5.30 pm. Then that night at 8.30 p.m , We will hold our Clan Banquet which we are planning to be our best Banquet so far. We encourage anyone attending to dress in Banquet Style!!!!! A fun night assured!!! Music will be supplied by an Irish group and a four course meal will be served. The Banquet ticket prices are 25EURO Each and we will elect our new clan cheftain at this event.
Sunday 18th-We will hold a history presentation on famous McAuliffe's at the James O'Keeffe and guest lecturers will attend . This will be followed by a barbeque and also fun and games for the kids and again a sing song to finish off the weekend.
As you can see , a lot of organisation has gone into this event and we really do hope to see you all there and make this weekend to remember.
Closer to the event we will be sending you out a registration form so that we can get an idea of how many are attending each function so that we can organize food etc. and we also can confirm with the hotael how many are planning to attend our banquet but that will be forwarded to you at a later stage. So for the moment have a think about this wonderful weekend thats in store and if you are in two minds about travelling to Ireland , this is your perfect opportunity and those of you in Ireland , please do make the effort to come to Newmarket in beautiful Co Cork from July 16th To July 18th . We will also be sending out a list of hotels, Guest houses and B&B's in the region.
We also decided that we are to collect membership of 10Euro every foru years from this point on as some are paying membership and are not. So those of you that need to pay membership , now is the time as during the Clan Rally there is really enough handling of money without the added pressure of membership, so we are urging everyone to pay now and then it will not be required again until 2007.
Looking forward to meeting you all in 2004 and in the meantine start making those banners and flags and put on your thinking caps as to what costume you can wear for the banquet.!!
