So many dispatches. The effort gone into writing them has been enormous, but it's got to a stage where the newcomer doesn't know where to start. To read them all would take a lot of time, to read the worst might see the unsuspecting youngling run screaming from the sphere. So here it is: The totally unbiased view of Bac Ho on the dispatches.
29) Peek-A-Boom
лллл
At first I nearly dismissed this as merely a simple report of the events of two unknown alliances. Where were the characters, the humour, the drama? But then I actually read the thing. It's enthralling. The tactics were sound, the attack brutal, the results devastating. That picture of the 6 Halls huddled around a gate was simply beautiful. Hats off to you Covenant. Some clans of your age complained that they could never possibly compete starting so far behind the pack, you just got on with the job. I'm sure the oldest clans have taken notice. Knights summed it up well: "Awesome dispatch!"
28) Bitterness and Woe
лл
A bit negative but an insightful read. Not sure if I agree with the posting of private comms into a dispatch unless both parties have agreed, and I'd be very surprised if Clan Y gave his permission for this character assassination. Basically Clan Y is a hippy, and you know how I feel about hippies. Would have got 3 stars if there were some pictures.
27) Mavericks the Musical
ллл
An epic and enjoyable read. Such a pivotal part of the story of Bac Ho, nice to get the view from the other side [ref 19. Brass Monkey for my view of events]. Not as revealing as I'd have hoped, still many questions dangling about unanswered. This is the story of an individual though, not that of a clan... and a good story at that. Again, no pictures so docked a star.
26) Gate Crashing the Bar-B-Que
лллл
I liked this. The inner workings of an alliance revealed to all. This is how an alliance should function. Oh how this bunch of rag-tag misfits reminds me of the Stompers in their prime. Although, "I'll attack Motley with ya Malkey! So long as I can call you Malkey!" would more likely have been "I've attacked Motley with ya Malkey... what d'ya mean you didn't want me to? Ummm, guys I need help here", if it was the inner workings of the Stompers on display. Read it, read it again and then join the safety of a mega-alliance to protect youself from the insanity of those closest to you.
25) The Revelatiad. Book 1: The scaling of the fortress walls
ллл
An important read. This describes the early stages of the biggest stoush the sphere has ever seen. It's hard work reading this though. Nice pictures, but for such an important tome a few battlefield scenes would be handy. And where was I? Do a search of Bac Ho and all you'll find are references to the BHMA. What about ME !?!? A clan who in the numbers game had been included on both sides, though in reality was on neither. Guess I've answered my own question.
24) The Slides of Death?
ллл
Pictures, glorious pictures! Scenes of death and destruction (working out who's who is a bit difficult at times). I don't agree with Zeptar's philosophy on life "We didn't want to make trouble", but it's a fine dispatch. There are also some useful words of wisdom with regards to the dreaded slide. "The sphere is a fantastic place", yes it is.
23) Get real, get politic.....
л
Don't bother. This has no place in the dispatches. All parties described in this dispatch are better than this. Tartarus is about death, destruction and fun. Where's the fun in this?
22) Burying Hate
л
Again, don't bother. Hate has no place on a war world? Nonsense! The only redeeming feature of this tripe is that it's not on the faraway website... maybe one day it'll die of neglect.
21) Ilya's Doom
лл
God's intro pretty much sums up my feelings on this one: "While many titans upon the sphere are vampires and bunnies, even fairies and frogs, in others beat the noble hearts of the Mech Commanders". Nothing personal, but I prefer the vampires, bunnies, fairies and frogs. A very well written dispatch, great pictures, just not my cup of tea.
20) Brassed Off Monkey
?
Sequel to #19 Brass Monkey. Awaiting independent review.
19) Brass Monkey
?
Awaiting independent review.
18) Affreux Tapestry
ллллл
Pictures, humour, originality, brevity! What more could a low brow clan with a short attention span ask for? Not much... this is brilliant! When can we expect a sequel?
17) 200 days in the life of AGE
ллл
From the shortest to the longest. Wow! A mammoth effort has gone into this, it even talks about ME! Lots of battlefield pictures. This should be wonderful. I'd be lying if I said I read the whole thing though. It's just too much.
16) A Tale of Betrayal
лллл
I shouldn't have, but I really enjoyed this one. I like to call this the "dog ate my homework" dispatch. It's fantastic, the beautiful descriptions of events and personalities, this fairytale is in reality just a lead up to one big excuse: "Evil made me do it". But let's not let reality (ie. weakness) spoil a good story... it's a very good story, read it and enjoy.
15) Sugar Dance
лллл
This is how I like to remember Sidhe. The evil renegade, "Your death awaits". An evil grin as he drives the dagger into your spleen. The risk taker, the effective offence, the humour. This dispatch shows Sidhe at his best. It all occurred in the briefest of moments as an independent, in limbo between alliances. Take a lesson from this, there is much to be gained from being in an alliance, but the glory is all yours if you act alone.
