more words...

it is utterly depressing to watch all the new construction in the area. every time i turn around, another new development is announced, full of expensive, shoddily built megahouses with no yards.

i know i have no right to resent everyone moving into the area, but i do. hate them, hate their cars, hate their bond issues to pay for the new schools needed because they are flooding into the area.

i think new houses in new developments should have surcharges attached to them, levied against the construction companies, the realtors, and the buyers. the monies should be used for new roads, and new schools and all the other new infrastructure pieces that are required when a neighbourhood of 100 suddenly becomes a neighborhood of 1000.

of course, what i really think is i should be allowed to decide who is allowed to move into my area of the world. i'd be a harsh mistress.
