This lead-light look design was effectively achieved from cutting out (using scizzors and a 'pen' knife') the birds and plants shapes from a sheet of black card, and gluing (on the card's remainder 'framework') the birds and plants pieces of coloured cellophane wrap. In some instances 2 layers of cellophane were applied to 'darken' the green colour or to create other colours as in brown or grey.
