Books about Morgan cars; a comprensive list, prepared by Claire Rosemary Jane. Malvern, Worcestershire, U.K., January, 2000 |

Of all the many books written about Morgan cars, as included in the list on this page, there is only one book to feature a genuine, (and rare) Morgan car, in the children's fiction category, "Carol Corsa and Mickey Morgan", published in the United Kingdom by The Lutterworth Press in 1998. When I started writing the children's books which resulted, I spent some considerable time researching just which Morgan to use, travelling back to Malvern, Worcestershire, (where my parents still live) to look at the collection of books in the Malvern Library reference section (MRL) and to the National Motor Museum (NMM) in Beaulieu, Hampshire. As a result I have looked through the vast majority of the Morgan books contained by these two reference libraries. For a fictitious family of four, one car stood out head and shoulders above the rest; the Morgan Plus 4 four seater drophead coupe, of which only 2 production cars, plus a further 49 cars were built. Knowing what I had in mind, Peter Morgan took care to emphasise that he regarded the car as an occasional four seater. Below is a complete list of all the books held by the NMM and the MRL, plus all further books on Morgan cars listed in the Worcestershire County Library Catalogue (WCLC)., together with their year of publication when known. Because of the sheer amount of information, the information will be spread over a number of linked web pages. Additionally all other books known to have been published concerning Morgan cars at any time have also been included. These are listed as "other", and information on some of them is minimal. |
