SPASTIC CERBRAL PALSY

When muscle one is too tight the term spastic is used to describe his type of Cerebral Palsy. People suffering from this type of CP have stiff, jerky movements because their muscles are too tight and they are unable to relax them. Their condition makes it difficult for the sufferer to move from one position to another. Often, they also have difficulty in releasing objects they are gripping.

This is by far the most common type of CP with almost 50% of all CP sufferers having the Spastic type
