WORK & A WEDDING
Claire with the 2 other ladies that work in my office (Meena & Wajeha). You might be able to see the snow falling (photo taken Christmas Eve). Do I fit in? You're not supposed to smile in photos. It's a problem!
Usman, Aziz & Ben in the front yard at work. Same day, same snow!
Shukor & Ghani having a smoke on the first day it snowed this winter (around 20th Dec)
Claire with some of her work buddies - Nematullah & Rafiq
Early in December Claire's work had      it's annual meeting. Instead of cocktails and networking, in the evening we enjoyed . . . .
grown men dancing like fairies and
An Afghan Band, lots of food,
an entertained audience. I was unable to capture in a photo the man (& his lighting assistant) filming the whole event - making special effort to get the foreigners on film as much as possible. The audience on the left are having a good chuckle at a 'play' some of the staff put on.  It was a bit like the sort of play you expect at a school camp but it was grown men taking the piss out of their bosses. This is the traditional way Afghans communicate what issues they have.
An Afghan Wedding
Matt with the groom & bride. Note: Matt  would like you to admire his jacket, not the bride! Once again, smiling in  front of the camera is a no-no!
Matt's work colleague Tanya with the groom's sister. We found it difficult to match the style of the Afghan's outfits!
