This Christmas time, Steps sensationally impressed audiences across the country with their theatrical-like show. Set on Christmas day, the curtain opens on two young children ( Steps' dancers) wondering what Santa has left them. They unwrap five extremely large presents, which turn out to be life sized Steps dolls. The dolls (members of Steps) begin to sing and dance to Tradegy, before magically coming to life before our eyes. The gang then wow the audience through some very spectacular numbers including their future single 'It's the way you make me feel'. A staircase lowers and the group plus dancers descend. 'It's the way you make me feel' sees the group dancing arm in arm in a scene reminiscent of a Jane Austin novel. The concert progresses with the added Christmas number, Lisa singing Mariah Carey's 'All I want for Christmas is You' gets everyone out of their seats. H and some very nice male dancers give an egyptian feel to the show when he performs 'Learn to love again'. Claire performs a song she has written herself, which she tells the audience will be a bonus track on the new single. She and her dancers appear clad in gangster-type suits complete with hats, and mid-way through the number transform into glitzy, sparkly outfits. This all happens quite suddenly and much to the amazement of the audience, as Claire and her dancers slip behind a screen, reappearing a second later in the funkier gear. A finale to the show is the group performing Christmas songs in a medley, with 'Merry Christmas Everybody' as the show closes. An altogether steptacular performance to outshine any of their previous shows! |
