| Welcome to the Garden... | ||||||||||||
| The garden is a pretty rad place. Here we share what Scripture we are reading right now, what is on our hearts, prayer requests, thoughts, questions, ideas we have about the faith we share. Please come back and get involved! You can use this guestbook for stuff you want to say concerning stuff you read here. (p) "Is anyone of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? He should sing songs of praise. Is anyone of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to eachother so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." -James 5:13-16 I think that this is a totally rad passage. It's so easy to get freaked out, or sick, or even have something totally rad happen, and not allow the glory to be God's, or your concern to be put at God's feet. I know I've been holding on to a lot of stuff this year that I don't need, I definitely don't want, and I really shouldn't be hanging on to. God wants it, and it is my job to give it to him entirely, allowing him to carry me through pain and suffering. Also, it shouldn't be me praying alone at night, praying for my own health. Why have I not been seeking out brothers and sisters to join me in the battle? Yeah, just some thoughts...(p) |
