| We spent the rest of the day at Nickys house. We were both so pleased with the news of him not moving, all we practically did was smooch. Not that I minded, I knew Nicky was someone very special. He meant so much to me, not just as a friend, but as a companion. The days I spent in Nickys company were never dull, or boring - Nickys smile would always cheer me up. His cheeky grin that I loved so much, his brilliant blue eyes, his wonderful accent, his blonde hair....... everything about Nicky was perfect. And, the more time we spent together, the closer we became to one another. Nicky had a great sense of humour, and always had joke to tell when the conversation went dry. He could cheer me up, just by smiling. And, he could always tell if something was bothering me. It was as if sometimes he could read my mind. We sat on the couch, staring at each other, and smiling. "I'm so pleased you're not moving away - I mean, I don't know what I would've done." I gazed at Nicky, his sparkling blue eyes held my stare, and were accompanied by a blush. "Niether do I - you're the most important person to me right now. When I heard I might be moving away.........I didn't know how to tell you." "Its ok now though Nicky - you're staying, and thats the main thing." "Yeh, I suppose so." A cheeky grin appeared on his face almost instantly. At that moment, we heard a car pull up outside. Nicky glanced out of the window, to see it was his parents. He then glanced at the clock; "They're late back Charlotte - it's nearly 10 o'clock. They were meant to be back at lunch time. I never realised, but it's dark outside now! Where did the time go?!" Then we both smiled at each other, remembering how we had just spent the past few hours - smooching, and being soppy in general. "I wonder!" Nicky grabbed my hand. "C'mon, we're going out, before they get in.We'll go out the back door." He pulled me up from the couch, and towards the back door. "Why aren't we waiting to see your parents?" I asked. "They'll talk all night, and we'll never get out. I can talk to them, when you're gone, but just now you're the only person I want to talk to and spend time with." He gave a wry smile, almost looking devious. "Ok, we'd better hurry then." We sneaked out of the back door, and shut it quietly behind us. Then Nicky took my hand, and we began to walk. "Fancy a walk?" "Yeh sure Nicky, where to?" Nicky pointed; "To that top of that hill there. I walked up there myself the other day, when I heard we might be moving. I sat there for a good couple of hours, and thought about how I was going to tell you. It's beautiful up there - you get a view of the whole village." "Yeh, I've been up there before, but not in a while." "I thought we could go and watch the stars - they're beginning to come out now." He gestured towards the sky. I smiled shyly, thinking how romantic Nicky was. "Lets go then." It took us about half an hour to reach the top. On the way, we talked - mainly about the future, people we knew, and as usual Nicky found some jokes to drop in to conversation. It was quarter to eleven when we reached the top. Nicky took off his denim jacket, and lay it on the grass, for us both to sit on, as the grass was slightly damp. At first we just sat, and looked over the entire village. The village was all lit up at night, with street lamps, and houses. There was not much activity though - we seldom saw any cars driving through. "It's a great view up here, don't you think Charlotte." "Yes.....it is isn't it. The stars are fully out now" I said, pointing to the sky. "I know." Nicky turned his stare to me. "Someone's stolen the stars from the sky, and put them in your eyes." He smiled. "That chat up line is so old!!" I started to laugh. So did Nicky. "I thought you might have heard it before - I can only try!! It just seemed appropriate - that's all. I know it's old though!" "Yeh, it is!!" Nicky moved closer, as he put his arm around me. I glanced at my watch - it was after eleven o'clock, although it didn't feel like it. "This is really romantic, don't you think?Sitting up here like this, watching the stars." I turned towards Nicky, as I said this. I wasn't nervous at all, like I usually was. "I'm not watching the stars Charlotte." I saw his eyes twinkle as they always did, in the moonlight. "I'm watching you." Nicky then leaned over, and tilted my face towards his. He embraced me in his arms, as he kissed me. The longer we kissed, the closer we became - we held each other so tightly. Nicky holding me felt so right - like it was meant to be. I felt comfortable, and at ease with Nicky. We kissed, and kissed - I enjoyed Nicky kissing me. When we eventually stopped, Nicky spoke; "So, I take it we're going out with each other now?" I felt a warm feeling inside of me - a feeling of excitement, and anxiety. "Well, you haven't actually asked me........." I trailed off mid sentence. Nicky held both of my hands, and stared in to my eyes. "Ok Charlotte - will you go out with me?" "Of course I will." At that point, I felt so pleased - Nicky and I were officially a couple now. Nicky was the best boyfriend any girl could want to have, and he was my boyfriend. He'd chosen me. That made me feel special. Then we both stood up, hand in hand - we had to make our way home. We had one last look at the village - by this time, hardly any lights were on. It was still, and calm. Nicky put his arms around me, as we viewed the village. I felt a slight breeze on my face. I smiled to myself. I finally had what I'd always dreamed of - the boyfriend of my dreams. |
