Everyone looked at him. "Well, who would've thought, marriage!" He laughed, "what a surprise, thought we'd never get there!" "Yup!" Kian laughed, "I wondered how long it'd take." "Too long!" Nicky laughed, and pointed at the groom laughing. Bryan sat down. "Well," Shane stood up. " I guess I have a few thank you's to make." He pulled out a list from his pocket. "Ummm, ok there we are." He studied the sheet and admitted, "I wrote this because I knew I'd forget." There were a few giggles, then silence as we waited for his thank you's.. He cleared his throat. "Number 1 - Ronan and Louis, thank you for letting me be a part of Westlife. It's been...ummm...something else." "That's ok Shane!" Ronan laughed, while Louis sat smiling, almost moved to tears. Shane continued, "number 2 - to Mark, Kian, Nicky and Bryan - for being like brothers, and the girls, love you all." He winked at the table where we were all sitting and promptly received a playful punch on his arm from his new bride. "And number 3 -" he checked his list again, "oh yeah, I guess I owe a big thank you to Jessica for, umm, being so sick, if that makes sense." On hearing her name being mentioned, she jumped down from her chair and ran over to Shane, thinking he was shouting on her, but was quickly picked up by Bryan, and put back on the chair. What Shane had said made sense, afrer all, he had just got married to the younger nurse who had been there at the hospital looking after her. "And last but not least, Carrie, for agreeing to marry me." At that, we all stood up and clapped, while he sat down embarassed by the response. "Here's to Westlife, and the last member getting married." Louis laughed, and we all joined in the toast. "WESTLIFE!" ...the end... |
