"I think she's coming around..." a voice said. I opened my eyes slowly, letting the light from the window blind my sight while it reflected upon the walls and the clean tiled floor. I looked back at the place where the voice came where a few figures sat, admidst the darkness of my sight I could make out two unfamiliar people but why would these people be here? Why did everything look so unfamiliar? What was going on?
I studied the woman while she walked forward and presented me with a small bundled object. Her light brown hair seemed freshly cut as it framed her face a bit too well. She smiled at me lightly before gesturing towards the bundle. I looked at her a final time and slowly brought my vision downwards to see an infant. I gasped a moment while the child stirred in my arms.
The eyes, the hair looked so familiar... Looking up again I saw the same eyes of the mother. Those eyes reminded me of the warmth of a friendship I used to have with a girl. I studied the child for a moment more before giving back the infant. I could feel something clicking something connecting but I didn't realize what."So what do you think of her?" the woman asked. "Oh it's a lovely baby... um... I can't think of your name I'm sorry, but do I know you?" I replied while the color of the woman's cheeks disappeared. "Do i know you?" she repeated in a slight whisper, "How can you not know me I'm..." but she never completed that sentence because her voice was lost. I looked her over again and turned to look back at her, the man sitting down came over to comfort her. He kissed her lightly and then wrapped his arms around her. "I'm so sorry." He whispered in her ear, "I'm not sure what's wrong." The woman shrugged and moved out of the chair.
The woman and man looked back at me a last time and then walked back out. Inside I could feel the depths of my soul calling out to them to come back but my mouth would not reply to it's signals. The people were gone and I was alone again in this unfamiliar place. 'What had I said? What did they want?' The questions asked. My body felt weak as I tried to get out of bed and soon I slumped back onto the hard matress, tired and sore. It wasn't very long before the heaviness of my eyes brought the darkness back towards me.
"Mel... Melia..." a sound came to my ears I turned around to be met by a pair of blue eyes. There was something in those eyes... something that hit me in my chest. I looked in to their depths of blue, as if seeking the answer. "Mark" I whispered and watched as smile played on his lips. It was then it began to come back to me, who he was, what he had done, why I was here...
I felt the smile on my lips drop as I remembered the day before, Nisa. His innocent face shined supremely, but I knew it was an act, he was with her alright. "Leave" I murmured. Mark's face sunk, "Leave?" he repeated. I
nodded. He looked up at me, I could see the false apologies swarming in the blues of his eyes. "But Mei..." he started. Quickly I looked away. It was only moments before I felt him twirling my hair around his finger. I
reached back and grabbed his hand, a new pain attacked my body as the hard metal scraped my palm. I glared at him while I looked at the guilty item. A ring... *my* ring. Gasping, I looked back, his face showed hope. "Do you remember?" he paused, "Do you remember how much I loved you? How much you cared? How stupid things disrupted our relationship?" Mark asked me as he twirled the ring around his smallest finger. As he looked at me sincerely, my doubts began to vanish but I held on to my ground. "What about Nisa?" I asked. He sighed and then said, "She's married." "MARRIED?" I roared. 'How had this happened? To whom?' I thought "To you?" I heard myself asking with the courage that was left. He looked away and then answered, "Your cousin." "My cousin?!?! But how... what?" I yelped. "He came to see me... about you, and well she was there begging to come in and she, well, sort enchanted him then and there and the last thing I heard was that they were living
somewhere in California." He answered simply .He had calmed my doubts but I still had a question, "And you, whom are you with?" I stopped breathing as I waited for his answer. "You." His short word made me smile weakly. I opened my mouth ready to ask more questions, and whether or not he was really telling the truth but the softness of his lips silenced me.He smiled contently when he pulled away, I just looked back in a daze.
I returned his smile and sank into my pillows. "Boy, I missed that." I heard his say to himself. "But I've only been out for a while right?" I asked, "Right?" According to the heavy sigh that replied I paused a bit confused. His hair seemed longer than the day before, while I studied him. His eyes had small dark cresents below them from a matter of little sleep and his perpetualy cleanly shaven face was not well shaved. I closed my eyes and began to speak, "I've been out for...."
"About a year, next week Thursday." He interrupted. The color on my cheeks disappeared and I breathed in
hard. "A year? And the people with the child were...." "Kian and Clara." Mark filled in. I inhaled deeply and looked over, "And the others? Are they still together? Shane and Vikki, are they married?" I asked. "Yes, yes, and no. They all decided they'd rather wait a while to see how you end up before getting married or anything." "Oh." I replied. "And us?" I asked, 'If there is a us." my mind echoed. "What do you think that was a few moments ago? Fun? For good time sake? A memory starter-upper?" he joked, "Melia, I  love you even more than I ever did. Hundreds of times more. Why else do you think I would stay by your side as much as possible for the past year? Hell, I felt bad, I was drunk, I made a mistake... I know. But while I sat down lately and watched you dream silently. It would be a lie if I said that I never wondered if you were dreaming about me. You are my dream, past, present, and hopefully future. That is, if well you'll take me back.
I know this must sound horrible and rushed and everything but I just wanted to know you understood how I feel, so I could release these feelings that have been piling up over time. And well if you don't feel the same I understand... but I just want you to know you mean everything to me and well as things turn out everything you may be because I've received a few threats about leaving you or leaving the band." "LEAVING THE BAND?" I yelled. "Haha, only joking... just wanted to get some circulation going and to make sure you were listening. But anyway, is it a yes or a no? Will you take me back?" his eyes gazed deeply into mine. I bit my lip and looked away, "On one condition," I started, "If you give me back that ring... let me say I'll think about it." He hastily took the ring off his finger and gently slid it onto mine. "Thinking done?" he asked. "Thinking done." I smiled as I leaned in to place a light kiss on his lips.
