| Part 24 (Kian) We sat out in the seats. I wanted to ask how Jess could be Derek's, but thought best to leave it for now. I don't know how long we sat.but there was no news about Bryan in that time. After a while, a doctor came over and asked Robyn if he could have a word, probably about the tests I thought. She returned a few minutes later, looking shocked and even more pale than before. "Are you ok?" I asked her. "Umm, yeah." "Feeling better?" Mark asked her. "Not really." She sighed heavily and stood up. "Umm..i was going to ask, Robyn, should we call Derek, let him know Bryan's here. Maybe he could take Dylan and Jess for a few days. I don't think you want to leave Bryan here, do you?" "No, I don't want to. I was thinking of calling him anyway." She said. "Want me to call?" Mark asked. "Yeah, I'm sure he'll help out." Mark walked away. "So, what did the doctor say?" I asked Robyn. "That I'm pregnant." She started to cry a little. "Great timing, huh?" "I take it you didn't plan this then?" "Well, let's put it this way, if I'd have wanted to hear the pitter patter of little feet, I'd have put shoes on the cat." She laughed a little, then started to cry again. "It's going to be ok." "What if he doesn't make it?" "Don't talk like that!" "It could happen, couldn't it? And I'll be on my own." She started sobbing, I just gave her a hug, then noticed Mark coming back. "What's happened?" He asked panicking. "He hasn't-" "No. Just leave it for now." "K, Derek's going to pick Dyl and Jess up from ours tomorrow. Could I borrow keys to yours and pick up some stuff for them later?" Robyn never answered him ,i think she was in a world of her own, taking the days events in. "Robyn? Keys?" I whispered to her. She looked up, confused, then went in her bag and took out her keys and handed them to me, I gave them to Mark. "Is she ok?"he asked, looking concerned. "Yeah." Just then, a doctor walked over to us. "Are you with Bryan McFadden?" "Yeah. How is he?" " Still unconscious, but you can go in and see him." "Thanks." I said, we all stood up. The walk down the hall seemed so long. I didn't know how bad he was going to look, what machines would be there. We reached the door, we all stood outside for a moment, silently daring each other to enter first. We watched as Robyn marched into the room and followed her. He looked so pale, not like Bryan at all. "Oh my God." Mark whispered, and backed away. "Look, he's just sleeping." Robyn said, and walked closer. "Yeah." I walked over too. "Can he hear us?" "I think so." "Ok, well, ummm...Bryan, wake up mate. Please. Let us know that you're ok. Why didn't you come to us? This is no solution, ya eejit." I laughed a little, now crying myself. "Bryan, we need you back, please. Dyl and Jess and....." She stopped, I guessed that she was keeping things quiet for the moment. "Why?" I pulled her back from the bed and hugged her. "I can't stay in here." Mark backed out of the room, looking more pale than Bryan. A few minutes later, Nicky and Shane arrived and slowly walked in. "Hey Ki." Nicky said quietly. "Hi. You got the message then." They both nodded slowly. "We got here as fast as we could. My car's died." Nicky explained. "Sorry." He apologised after realising what he had just said. "How is he?" Shane asked, staring at the bed. "He's unconscious still." "Will you guys stop talking as if he's not here!" Robyn cried, surprising me. "Umm, we'll wait outside for now." Shane said quietly, he and Nicky both walked out. "Do you want some time alone with him?" I asked her, she nodded. "Ok, we'll be outside, ok?" She nodded again. "Thanks Ki." "Anytime." I smiled and walked out to join the others. "What was that all about?" Nicky asked. "I think she just needs time to take this in, and talk to him. I think she feels a bit guilty, because she was in the house and never knew..." "Yeah." I looked at the room, wondering what was being said. |
