thanksgiving momentos

i've had these candles since i was about eleven years old.

they're much older than that, or at least a few years older, but i was eleven when my grandmother handed them over to me. they had graced the center of our thanksgiving table for as long as i could remember. there were more than the two, i seem to recall a girl pilgrim as well, and am pretty sure there were multiples of each to spread out over the long dining room table.

my grandmother knew we would be moving in the new year and she wanted me to take a piece of the holiday tradition with me so she gave me the candles in their own little box. through countless moves, i've never lost them.
