1999 november 04work work workpickings may be slim around here for a while, even more slim than they've been of late. it looks like i am going to get the new job i've been casually interviewing for. but i also made a commitment to the old job to complete the major project we are desperately trying to get out from under. in spite of being somewhat resentful of the way the dysfunctional company that could has treated me, i have an abundance of work ethic and cannot make myself bail when they need me most. however, i also do not want to lose my chance at the new job. solution? claire works both jobs. i still put in my 40 at the old job, arriving at 7 on monday wednesday and friday, leaving at 3, and arriving at the ungodly hour of 6 on tuesday and thursday, leaving at 2 to hop over to the new place for 3 or 4 hours. the new place also gets 1 day a weekend when i do some writing or diagramming or web work. it means i barely have time to think much less write little love notes here. and don't even get me started on the little household chores that seem to be falling by the wayside. it makes my head spin. this may well last for a few months, until things start wrapping up at the old job in late winter. wish me luck. looking for the life preserver that is hiding in all the mess somewhere, claire
