pouting

thought i'd died, didn't you?

nope, just been pouting. the cold got worse, the workload at the office got worse, and worst of all, my latent death wish surfaced in the form of me flinging myself to the ground with much force in an attempt to cause death by scraping and bruising. i failed.

[for a limited pictorial of the results, click back through last week's entries; i scanned some of the damage.]

i have been black and blue, and sniffly and coughy, and achy and swollen for the better part of a week. i am the biggest whiner ever. but if you had been picking out slivers of beauty bark from various appendages for days and if you couldn't wear a proper bra for days because it hurt the deep bruises across your breasts, you'd whine too. well, you probably wouldn't. but i did.

that's all over and done with now, though; once again jubilee has done me one better.

she's in the hospital, hooked up to an iv, being pumped full of blood thinners. she'd been having some pain in her thigh, above the cast, so she went in to see her doctor. she did an ultrasound of some sort and they discovered a series of blood clots, completely occluding one of her veins or arteries.

scary stuff.

they are keeping her for five days and then sending her home with an armful of drugs which she will have to take for at least the next six months. luckily, they don't seem to think there will be a problem with the clots jarring loose and flying down her bloodstream to give her a heart attack or stroke.

they aren't worrying. apparently this is because i am doing enough for everyone.

up and about, claire
