xoom xoom xoom a xoom

if you are trying to read this through brand x and you're using msie, just say no. just say no to javascript errors

no to the question about whether or not you want to continue running scripts on the bloody page, that is. i don't have any script on the internal journal pages so while it is a proper pain in the ass at the moment, i'll have to live with it until i find better lodgings that will continue to conceal my true identity. we can't have those nasty super villains finding me now, can we?

if you're not reading this through brand x, then you shouldn't have any problems other than those of an aesthetic nature. i really do apologize for the inconvenience. if i had any control over the beasts of xoom, the bar would die a quick and painless death, immediately if not sooner.

good news on the work front.

last year in april, almost a year ago, i received a formal review; it was something of a novelty since no one in the company had had one in several years but i was quite pleased with the results, especially as i was awarded an 8% raise and a $5000 bonus. i should have known better.

the raise was dropped to 7% after the admin weasels had at it and it didn't show up on my paycheck until july 15. the bonus was cut to $3500 and was purportedly mere inches from my hot little hand several times since last summer, but ultimately there were no bonus bucks to be seen. imagine my surprise then when today, instead of one pay envelope, there were two. it had been cut again, but lo and behold, the bonus: $2500 before taxes, somewhat less afterwards.

gene and i went out for greek to celebrate. nothing like chomping on a few dozen squid legs to really finish off a day right.

raising the bar, claire
