1999 march 10 grrrrrmy computer is being most uncooperative. i will try and do a proper update later today, from the office. in the meantime, if you see a sensational news story about a woman doing cruel and unusual things to her computer, the one with the tendency of late to completely freeze up at the drop of a hat, that'll be me. i'll have blown my anonymity but it'll be worth it.
later: all is well with the world, mostly because i just saw myself in a mirror for the first time since my shower this morning and i realized i'm having yet another spectacular hair day. i am so shallow. which sort of leads into the other thoughts i have been playing with this morning. i was watching the scifi channel last night, as i am wont to do when there is nothing else of interest on, and they showed the first part of the stand. i love those movies and novels where huge segments of the population are mysteriously killed off and the world is left as a playground for the chosen few. i don't really think i would be interested in fighting a battle of epic proportions over such nebulous concepts as good and evil, but i most assuredly would like to play in the mall all by myself. does anyone remember a movie called night of the comet? sure they had to defend themselves against evil mutants monster bad guys and sure all their friends and family were so much comet dust, but they had the most spectacular time trying on all the clothes they wanted. i reckon i wouldn't mind bra shopping so much, something i still haven't done, if i could have the whole store to myself and could spread them out across the floor instead of herding all the hangers and myself into a tiny changing room. the geekboys and i have a megalomaniacal version of the end of the world game we play whenever we are at concerts or other large public gatherings: name three [or more, depending on how brutal we are being] classes of people you would abolish from this venue. my perennial fave is anyone who wears their baseball caps backwards. geekboy1's is anyone wearing mossimo. geekboy2 doesn't have a favorite, choosing instead something completely different each and every time, his last being people with green fingernail polish. i escaped on a technicality; my green polish is on my toenails. frustrated, claire |
