i believe

i believe in coyotes and time as an abstract*.

i believe that william jefferson clinton is a weasel of the nth degree. i believe he should not be impeached but should just finish his term in office and get the hell out. i believe if hillary were to publicly slap him, on national television, most americans would agree it would be punishment enough. i believe saddam hussein is an evil man who would sacrifice most of the people in his country to maintain his opulent lifestyle. i believe the men and women sent to the gulf should receive our unconditional support even if we do not agree with the military action in which they are participating. i believe my goldfish daphne knows who i am. i believe i should unsubscribe from the expedia fare tracker so i won't feel the need to hop a plane every time they tell me london is less than $400 away.

i believe my cold has dug in for the long haul.

i believe i have finally found a christmas picture with at least one of my brothers in it. unfortunately i also believe that i do not have one with all four of us when we were small enough not to be recognized from a picture on a webpage. i believe the girl sitting on the couch with philip, jubilee and me might be a neighbor but i honestly can't remember. claire's sixth christmas

i believe i figured out santa claus was not real when i was five. however, when i was eight, waiting for me under the christmas tree was a brand new bicycle, an event which kindled my faith anew for one more year. i was old enough to know we were too poor at the time to afford a bike and not old enough to understand about credit.

i believe gene is the perfect man for me and i wake every morning thankful he is in my life. i believe i have not been this serene since i was a child and someone else took care of all the worrying for me.

i believe i wrap gifts better than 95% of the population. i believe i should stop writing this and begin the business of finishing my christmas cards; they are turning out rather nicely so i may scan one later to show you. i believe i may have actually finished my christmas shopping.

believing, claire
