Guidelines for Abstract Submissions:

1.      Abstract should not exceed 1 page double-spaced

2.      Each submission should include on a separate title page, the title of the submission, the author's name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and any other information

3.      Abstract Title should be no more than 15 words (with only the first letter of each word capitalized).

4.      Name of the presenting author should be underlined.

5.      All abstracts have a 300 word limit of text

6.      To assist such students, the Conference Committee has outlined the following guidelines for developing an abstract:

a.      Background: A statement of the hypothesis or research question.

b.      Methods: An explanation of the study design and experimental methods used.

c.       Results: A concise summary of the major findings of the research. Sufficient information must be provided to permit evaluation by the reviewers and public reading the abstracts. Statements such as "additional information to be presented at the meeting" are not acceptable.

d.      Conclusion: Summary of the overall findings.

7.      Acceptance of the abstract in the Conference and assignment to a presentation session are determined solely by the Conference Committee based on a review of the abstract and its subject matter. Decisions of the Conference Committee are final. By submitting an abstract the author(s) agree to allow publication of information on the CLAIHR website and the agenda package which will be distributed to all participants. Abstracts accepted for the Conference presentation at the University of Ottawa may be published in a (law) journal (pending funding)

8.      Instructions will be sent to the authors whose abstracts are accepted for the Conference presentation.

9.      CLAIHR uses Microsoft Word. Please submit your abstract in a compatible format.

10.  Abstracts must be emailed to [email protected]. Abstracts will not be accepted by fax, by e-mail, or on computer disks

11.  Abstract submission deadline is November 18, 2005. Authors are encouraged to submit their abstracts as early as possible.

Questions regarding preparation of abstracts may be directed to the Conference Committee at: [email protected]
