Acceptable Service:
The National Society reserves the right to determine the acceptability of all service and proof thereof.  The National Society accepts service, with some exceptions, for the period between 19 April 1775 (Battle of Lexington), 26 November 1783 (withdrawal of British Troops from New York), and as detailed on the national society's web site.

What is a Junior Member of DAR?
Junior Members are between the ages of 18 and 35.  Claiborne Parish is proud of the many Juniors who hold offices and chairmanships in our society.  Juniors can also serve as pages at state conferences and at the national society's Continental Congress, and they raise money for children at the DAR sponsored schools through the Helen Pouch Memorial Fund.

What is the Outstanding Junior Award?
The "OJ" is elected first by her chapter at a fall meeting.  Following nomination, she completes a state contest form.  She is judged on her significant service to DAR (chapter, state, and national) and her community.  A Junior may be her chapter "OJ" without entering the contest.  All chapters may honor one Junior each fall.  Claiborne Parish Chapter is proud to be the home of two State Outstanding Juniors!
About the DAR:
The NSDAR National Headquarters is located at 1776 D Street NW in Washington, D.C.  It occupies three adjoining buildings: Memorial Continental Hall, DAR Constitution Hall, and an Administration Building.  It is the most valuable site in America owned entirely by women.  Within its halls is housed a renowned museum and one of the best genealogical libraries in the country.

These members are found in over 3000 chapters, covering all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and 11 overseas units located in five countries.  The goals of the society are Historic Preservation, Promotion of Education, and Performing Patriotic Endeavors in an effort to promote "God, Home, and Country!"
Web hyperlinks to non-DAR sites are not the responsibility of the NSDAR, the state organizations, or individual DAR chapters.
