DISCOVERIES
Mrs. Lawhon

The Discoveries students are currently exploring a Nature Unit.  Second Graders are studying animal tracks, third graders are absorbed in birds and their nests, fourth grade students are enjoying trees and their leaves for identification purposes, while fifth graders are collecting and learning about wildflowers.

During this Discoveries time, all students are also writing and illustrating their own creative stories based around their study.  These stories will be published into hardback books.  The second grade students are also taking a field trip to a bookbindery in Bossier City.  Our culminating activity will be an Authors' Party for each grade level where the stories will be read to the audience (parents, friends, grandparents, etc.) and refreshments will be served.

It has been a joy working with these students!
