February 22, 2001
Dear fellow Libertarians,
Our group is facing several problems that we need to address. The first problem is that we arent getting anything done. We had decided to do a campus survey in February. February is now almost over and it is almost ready to be conducted. Unfortunately, we have not made enough plans to get it finished for February. So we have decided to do it the week of March 11. We will pick one or more lunch periods and conduct the college survey. We need to do this survey to identify people that are already libertarians. If you have any interest in helping please call 6437, e-mail the club or me at [email protected], or talk to me in person. The final plans and dates for this survey will be determined at our meeting on March 8 at 9:00 PM in the second floor lounge at Mohn hall (if you need admittance into the building please let me know before hand).
The next issue I need to address is attendance at our meetings. We need more people to come. I understand that you cannot come to every meeting. I understand that some of you have conflicts with the time. Perhaps Thursdays at 9:00 are bad? I am asking everyone to send me times that would be good for them. I will try to figure out which days and times are best and reschedule the meetings accordingly. If you cannot attend a meeting please let me know. Put the times that are good for you in my campus box (702) or e-mail them to me at the address above.
We would like to do a Wall of Shame in the Campus center. A Wall of Shame is a memorial to victims of the war on drugs. We need to find pictures and stories of people who were arrested or affected by someone arrested in the Drug War. If you would like to help please e-mail me and I will send you web sites to look for victims. I have gotton some pictures and stories from another libertarian group, but it would be nice if we could contribute to the effor. Please let me know if you are interested in helping.
Things are looking up for our libertarian group. The school has recognized the College Libertarians of Albright and we are getting editorials in the school paper. Feel free to send an editorial to the Albrightian. The more the merrier. If you need help just call or e-mail me. Our next meeting is going to be a work session. We are going to make posters, make final plans for the campus survey, and work on t-shirt ideas. We will also be having a work session on March 4 at 2:00 in Mohn hall second floor study lounge. I hope you do not get the impression that Im mad at you. Im not. I also hope that you dont feel as if things are all bad. They arent. However, we do need to work on some things to help throw out our ideas into the market place of ideas here on campus.
In Liberty,
