Letter to CL-ALB for Spring Semester 2001

January 22, 2001

Dear Cl-Alb.

Greetings and welcome back to Albright, I hope all of you have had a relaxing break or interesting interim session. With the spring semester here, it is time to get ready for the first CL-ALB meeting of 2001. Enclosed you will find the agenda for our next meeting along with several important attachments. The meeting will be February 8th, 2001 at 9:00 PM in Mohn hall, hopefully, on the second floor. The time has changed due to the fact that my new Greek teacher has decided to have Greek on Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:30. We will establish an official time for the rest of the semester in accordance to the constitution on the 8th.

Please read the agenda and be prepared to discuss the items on it. If you have any questions please call me at ext 6437. If possible please visit the web sites listed and get ideas for the given topic. You are welcome to do your own research on the subject and bring it up at the meeting. I cannot stress enough visit the web sites. You will have no clue what we are talking about unless you do. If you are having a problem doing so please call me or e-mail me at [email protected]. Do not be scared by the length of the agenda. My goal is not to bore you to death so some items towards the end may be tabled for our next meeting.

As a member of the College Libertarians of Albright we do not require you to join the National Libertarian party as a paying member. We do not require you to register to vote as a Libertarian. I am asking you to consider at least registering to vote as a Libertarian. http://www.fec.gov/votregis/vr.htm (if you need any help or want me to print you out the form just ask). If you feel compelled to be a paying member of the party even better but I will not pressure you to do either action. But I am asking you to consider it. You have nothing to lose by registering to vote as a Libertarian. Well, you wont be able to vote in primaries for a Republican or Democrat, but if you vote for them then you are voting to continue to lose your rights, and to continue to oppress people of all walks of life. Enclosed you will find the forms and a list of media quotes that show you we (Libertarian party) are up and coming. People are realizing our ideas are valid. The time is now to consider aiding us further.

Our web site is located at http://www.geocities.com/cl_alb if you have time (please visit the web sites on the agenda first) please check it out and give me your suggestions. Good luck with your studies and do not hesitate to ask any questions or give any suggestions. Also please bring the agenda and all attachments with you to the meeting. One last note, some of you have expressed interest in being more active. Im all in favor of it, but we need your input to be more active. Id love to have protests and more activities. When I said we should only do one a month I figured thats all youd want to do. If you would like to do something more or like us to do something more e-mail the club your idea. For ideas go to our web site or better yet subscribe to this activist list http://www.free-market.net/features/lists/ Every week they send you e-mail with lots of different suggestions on how to promote libertinism, freeing people imprisoned in the drug war, all sort of programs. It might give you ideas. At any rate to get something on the agenda for discussion please e-mail us at [email protected] .

Yours in Liberty,
