About
Me I've been involved with horses for over 20 years. As a kid, I took lessons at The Thomas School of Horsemanship in New York. I fell in love with the horses right away and riding and showing soon became my passion. While I never did own a horse as a junior rider, I was lucky enough to lease some great horses that taught me a lot. The highlight of my junior years was showing at the Garden State Horse Show, an "AAA" show and getting some good ribbons in the jumpers. As a student at Brown University in Rhode Island, I competed with the Equestrian Team in the Intermediate division. I finally arrived in the Bay Area after graduation. Not too long after I found my first show trainer, Susan Crenshaw, and I learned a lot. I trained with her for nine years, showing in the hunters, jumpers, and equitation. We even bought some project horses that we trained and sold. The experience I gained hanging around at the barn was invaluable. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to learn about all the aspects of horsemanship, from daily care and feeding, to injuries and illnesses, to riding and training. I got the show bug so badly I had to take Harry down south so we went and trained with Patrick Dwyer Show Stables for a few years where I learned a lot more about jumpers in particular and furthered my riding education. I've taken the next step and have had Harry home. We do it all now, trailer out to lessons, go on trail rides, even go camping. There's nothing like a well rounded life. |
