RE: CLASSROOM ASSERTIVE DISCIPLINE PLAN
In addition to the current Board of Education Student Rights and Responsibilities, the following Classroom Discipline Plan will be in effect. The purpose of this plan is to improve instruction and educational opportunity by removing disruptive conduct and negative social attitude. This Assertive Discipline Plan applies consistently to all students. No favoritism will be shown. All school rules apply and include the following:

a. Always follow district and building rules developed by the people
placed in positions of authority by your guardians and community.
b. Be honest in all things for your word may be the only thing
you have to offer and should count for good.
c. Come to class prepared: on time, with textbook and supplies, and
ready to think and learn, for you and others depend on your preparedness.
d. Do follow written and verbal directions immediately and
without negative or argumentative comments for doing so will create
a positive learning environment for everyone.
e. Extra care must be given to follow additional rules in all computer lab
areas of the high school in order to show respect for: a) valuable
equipment and b) appropriate network access and use, as outlined by the

1st Offense: Name written on chalkboard - Warning
2nd Offense: One check (Joe /) - 2:25 - 2:40 p.m. (15 minutes after school)
3rd Offense: Two checks ( Joe //) - two 15 minute sessions after school,
referral to counselor, and parents called
4th Offense: Three checks ( Joe ///) - referral
form sent to principal's office for Saturday Morning assignment
Any Severe Disruption: - Immediate removal to principal's office
subject to suspension and/or expulsion will be considered
disruptive and subject to Procedure 7. (There will be NO verbal warnings.)

1. All names and checks are erased at the end of period.
2. No name or checks will be erased as a reward.
3. Students receiving a checkmark will receive Conduct-Detention Notice.
4. Each student will be limited to two Detention Notices for Class
Misconduct per week.
5. Misconduct beyond two after school detentions, per teacher, will
be referred to the principal for possible suspension and/or expulsion.
6. All misconduct requiring detention or office referral will be logged
in the Class Discipline Referral Register.
7. When necessary to improve classroom discipline the warning step
may be removed for the disruptive student.
8. When student is truant to detention he is to be given three additional
15 minute detentions for each day he misses, before he is referred for
A. D. detention to truancy.
Reward for Appropriate Class Behavior: [Top of Page ][Mrs. K's Home Page]
a. Written or verbal praise to student and/or parents/guardians.
b. Opportunity to assist other students with class work.
c. Group reward when whole class exhibits consistently
positive behavior. Examples:
(1) Puzzle or game time related to instruction of course.
(2) Additional time in class to begin/complete homework assignments
(3) Donut breakfast.
(4) Popcorn party.
