Solving drive line lash problem

This problem is apparent in an on-off-on throttle applications.

1. Pull your rear wheel off and RTV the cushdrive rubber in place. Use lots of RTV you want to make the cushions fit very tightly, no play at all after the silicone is dry.

2. Change one thin metal clutch plate located in the center of the clutch pack for one new thick metal plate. (a stock outer plate will work just fine).

3. Run the maximum chain tension, never the minimum.

4. Lastly there is a small spring in the transmission that can be changed that takes up some slack in the drive train. If you have to have your motor apart for any reason, have this spring replaced with the '98 part number or the Yoshimura part.

Doing the first three steps cures about 3/4 of the lash problem, but the spring change cures the rest. Much easier throttle control during on/off/on throttle transitions.
