Word Image Test Page

The text above is Scrolling text. To scroll text use Insert, Scrolling Text…

This trial is to test the difference between copy/paste and insert images.

I think the best conclusion we can draw from these tests is that, although copy/paste is a very simple procedure to carry out initially, the advantages of saving/inserting graphic files are clearly superior. When the entire processes of saving images, creating the webpage, uploaded and managing the page are considered it is also the simpler process.

This animated gif image is copy/pasted

Below is the same animated gif image as the one above that has been saved and inserted. Animated gif's only animate when they have been saved/inserted.

Mouse over text works well with save/insert.

This picture is copy/pasted.

This copy/paste picture was formatted to have text wrap to the left. This is the effect.

Mouse over text is NOT an option with copy/paste images.

Also you have no control over file names with copy/paste images. Word automatically numbers them as they are pasted. This makes their tracking, troubleshooting and overall management a bit of a pain.

This picture is saved/inserted:

Mouse over text can only be added in inserted file pictures.

This save/insert picture was formatted to have text wrapped to the left also. This is the effect. Mouse over text works well. You name the image as you save it so you can name it something that makes sense to you. When you insert the file it keeps its name. This makes management much simpler.
