Yummy!
I am the type of person that has to gather her thoughts before actually doing something.  Except, when it comes down to writing, I find it easier to just let it all flow out.  True, it is nice to have a few points written but it's just as easy to write what I feel.  When I write, I try to touch every aspect that I can.  I compare writing to the way I eat, one thing at a time and don't mix things around or together.
It is extremely easy to just sit down at a computer and write whatever is on my mind.  I will admit that I do have to sometimes write things down so that I do not forget them, but that is just one of my techniques.  Sometimes it is hard to get started but after a few moments of deep thought I usually get the ball rolling.  This reminds me of when I sit down to eat, at first I'm not hungry but once I get started it's hard to stop.  Depending on what I am writing about, I can sit at a computer and type for hours, if I know what I am writing about.  If not, I might have to stop and actually write down key points to help me elaborate.
I do not care what anyone else says but I think the writing process is more easily said than done, kind of how it's hard to eat a balanced meal three times a day.  It is extremely easy to digress or forget proper writing skills.  It took me many years to remember that no matter what, you must give credit where it is due, as in quoting a person or citations.  I hate doing it but I think when you quote a person it adds flavor to the masterpiece.
I hate to admit this, but when I write I cheat.  Not really, but I do like to keep a thesaurus close by.  I think it comes in handy when I find myself at a loss of words, not to mention that it helps to broaden my vocabulary.  I feel as though I cheat when I eat too, I'm quick to grab an Ensure or Boost when at a loss for time.  Even though there is a thesaurus on my computer, I think it is easier to flip through the pages, I just might find a better word and I saved some of my thinking power to perfect my writing or as I call it my masterpiece.
I am a very picky eater.  It is mainly my mother's fault because when I was a baby she wouldn't let me eat one thing if I had not finished the first.  Now I am like that with my writing process too.  I cannot start another paragraph if I have not finished the one before it.  I think that everything has to link together in some kind of way; I'm not always sure what way that is but it usually comes out right.
Basically I write what comes to the top of my head, just how I eat what I put on my plate.  I am a very blunt person so I think that helps to keep my works interesting.  I have learned that quoting a person can sometimes turn out for the better, and so can eating three healthy meals a day with an occasional snack. When I write I try to take my time so I express my thoughts clearly.  When I eat I savor every bite so that my mouth waters with delight.  I write what I feel in hopes of keeping it real.
