Bucharest, Romania; ....Since April 19th the city run shelter at Pallady has acknowledged euthenizing over 200 dogs a day. Dr. Razvan Tiru claims the dogs inside the shelter are treated humanely. He claims they are first anesthetized by a medical technician followed by an injection of magnesium sulfate.
However recent video images on Romanian television claimed to be taken inside the city run shelter at Chiasna showed shocking scenes of non medical personnel killing dogs with their feet and giving injections without anesthesia.

A Nov. 30 visit to Bucharest�s euthenizing center revealed a row of iron cells packed with dogs either cowering in the corners or frightfully staring out between the bars. But most shocking was the incredible silence. - as if they were dead already. Florica Florea, the medical technician at the shelter considered there reaction normal.
Ms. Florea claims that the killing of the dogs begins after 2 PM after all the dog catchers have returned with the days catch. Each car packs in 15 to 20 dogs though dog catcher Gaby Varlan brags he can bring in up to 30.
