The WinSock Proxy service provides secure and transparent access to Internet resources for applications that use the Windows Sockets API. Microsoft Proxy Server version 2.0 supports applications that use Windows Sockets version 1.1. Some examples of supported applications include:
Install the WinSock Proxy 2.0 client for Microsoft Proxy Server version 2.0.
Once you install the WinSock Proxy client, no further changes are needed for your applications to work with the WinSock Proxy service.
If you are viewing this page with Netscape Navigator, you need to save the Setup.bat file to your local hard disk first. After you save Setup.bat to your hard disk, you can use the following procedure to install the WinSock Proxy 2.0 client.
