This is so far one of my favorite poems on bettas.

It is by “bubbledragon_Kaza”[email protected] and I received it on bettaevent yahoo group.

“Betta”

Silently you move about your world,

A predator in every way,

The beauty and grace become you,

As your fins softly sway.

There’s no doubt about it,

You are king of your world.

Complete peace and harmony,

Until your wrath you unfurl.

With gills all flared out,

A menacing look…

And your fins have now doubled,

The size that you look!

With arrogance and flair,

You “defeat” this new threat…

Not once did you worry,

Not once did you fret.

All while I watched there,

In total awe…

Once again stunned,

By the things that I saw.

Before I even realize,

You’ve relaxed just a bit…

Retaking your throne,

This image you fit.

I smile as I watch you,

Swimming in your tank.

Always so grateful,

For the image you make.

If I could make dreams,

Turn into wishes…

I’d wish to be one of my,

Siamese Fighting Fishes!!
